More About the Suzuki Swift
Suzuki Swift Sport – Introduction of the Challenge Car
The Suzuki Swift Sport feels like the last of a dying breed of ‘Hot hatches’ and is a true driver’s car. The Swift Sport offers an exhilarating drive with no compromise in power or performance, elements which combine to create an engaging and rewarding experience that will leave a smile on even the most seasoned drivers’ face after a few laps around Bushy Park!
While based on the production Swift Sport, each of our cars has been race-prepared, the interior stripped out and safety features including roll-cage, ignition cut-off switch and six-point harnesses added. With power from the 150bhp 1.6-litre VVT engine delivered through a six-speed manual gearbox, the addition of a limited slip differential, adjustable dampers and enhanced disc brakes front and rear make for superior cornering stability and safe handling.
Our Suzuki Swift Sport are fitted with the latest helmet-to-helmet communications, so you are in constant contact with your instructor, as well as having two sets of pedals so the instructor can step in if necessary – we cater for everyone from complete novices to seasoned racers.

Orry Hunte – Your Instructor
Orry Hunte is a multiple karting champion of the Barbados Karting Association (BKA) and the Lead Instructor of Bushy Park Barbados since 2014.
More About Orry
Son of Don Hunte, an accomplished Barbadian engineer and veteran of 1970s Bushy Park, Orry’s first racing machine was a fun kart given to him by a close family friend in St Vincent. With his first racing kart three years later, he started to win Barbados Karting Association (BKA) titles, eight at the last count!
He first raced overseas when only 12 – and not much taller than 5ft – at Mosport Kart Club in Canada, where he proved his talents quickly; on the first weekend, he qualified second to the local champion despite a lack of track experience, then lapped within half-a-second of the race-winner the following weekend, climbing from 25th on the grid to finish 12th… in the rain!
Having then travelled to Trinidad and Jamaica, he was ready when approached to apply for the Richard Petty Driver Search in 2010. Orry says: “This four-day training camp focussed on the complete skill set that defines today’s successful driver – car control, endurance, track management, race practices and mechanical knowledge, along with communication and marketability.”
After three seasons racing in the US, gaining invaluable knowledge along the way, Orry returned to Barbados, where he briefly picked up his kart-racing career, before joining our new team to oversee the Radicals and share his wealth of experience with patrons of the Radical Driving Experiences.
2014 – returned to Barbados, winning BKA Shifter Class races on his debut at the redeveloped Bushy Park… and got offered a job!
2010-12 – three seasons in the USA, first in the Richard Petty Driver Search, claiming a win and three further podium finishes, then in the USAC Ford Focus Midget Series
2006, ‘08–’10 – Champion Driver, BKA 125cc Shifter Class
2004 – Champion Driver, BKA Yamaha 310lbs Primer Class
2001–’03 – Champion Driver, BKA Yamaha 250lbs
